BioShock App Reviews

Is this just me or someone else is also experiencing download problem? In my case, the App Store keeps telling me "an error occured" when I am trying to download it. Ive tried several times, and restart the App Store, and even restart my computer, but it just doesnt work. Anyone else is experiencing the same problem?

i think this is a vey good game once u get a hold of the controls in can beome very fun and graphics a great

Love this game - blown away by so many different aspects - the graphics, the gameplay, the great storyline, the superb voice acting , the cool weapons and upgrades and the ability to freely wander about and check every corner of Rapture. Finding this game available in the App Store was a lot more convenient than ordering the disc online and waiting for it to be delivered - no hesitation once I saw it was available, and didnt take long for it to download. Fantastic and well worth checking out if youre into first person shooters with a bit of a twist - some moral decisions to be made along the way with the Little Sisters, still have to finish the game to see how my choices will work out. Would love to see a Resident Evil or Silent Hill App done this way.

This is the first Bioshock game Ive ever played and I am addicted!!! SO FREAKY. Im running this on a macbook air 13" 1.87GHZ without any problems. Smooth sailing. No complaints so far.

This game deserves a five stars for the concept. A five stars for the beautiful audio diaries. Five stars for the characters and setting. And five stars for a marvelous piano piece by Sander Cohen.

Ive played through the demo and must admit, this game hooked me from the start. Great art, great audio, controls need tweaking but other than that, EPIC game. P.S. If youre having download problems, check to make sure you finished all updates first. It wasnt downloading for me at first but I just paused my updates and it started just fine.

No problem downloading and installing and playing game…….Great game BUT what a surprise next day when i tried loading from saved games….crashing allways and bringing me back to desktop. Starting new game works fine but saved game do not load. Before playing 4 hours ….. maybe test your saved games after a few minutes just to make sure. Still looking for a way to fix this. *****I received help by support at ferralinteractive and they fixed my problem in no time :) ***** Thank you Gerard !

Hi, I dont can see my cursor in the menu and in the menu gam play , and i see some bug like multicolor bug strange / when i see the lighthouse at the begins of the game i see whithe color surround of multicolor please, FIX IT. FIX IT. please, thank you i run on macbook pro 15 .

Ive played bioshock on other consuls and this games quite comparable and a great addition for any mac user. however Im having the same problems as some of the other users like the Color engine freaks out every so often (really distracting) and everything goes all purple and green etc. the mouse curser also dosnt apear on the menu or in the in game inventory. Its worth buying but after they fix the bugs

There are few games that are able to completely immerse a player in their world. Bioshock is one of them. I dont even care that its not a new game, becuase it was so well put together and enjoyable to play. Its funny, disturbing, gripping, creepy as all Hell, and entertaining from start to finish. The menus and the very few animated scenes look kinda crappy, but the in game graphics look great, and the movement is very smooth. The best part is that I checked Ferals website and Bioshock 2 is coming for Mac. You can pre-order it now. Nothing on the App Store yet, but Im sure it will be...

This game is so incredibley awesome! The way they keep the suspense is brilliant! The game is very scary and if you are not the best at playing video games, you should go on easy. I havnt played the second Bioshock, but I have seen gameplay and I think this one is better. If you have the money and you want a game to keep you entertained for hours (like maybe you are going on a a long plane ride) get this game! On my 13 inch macbook pro I had a tiny bit of lagging evrey now and then and also it sometimes takes a while to load but nothing too bad. Sooooo good!

This game is the most epic game that ive ever played on my 13" macbook pro (2011, 2.3Ghz, i5, 8gb ram). Takes little while to load but everything else is sssssssooooooooooooo mmmmmmmmuuuuuccccccchhhhhhh better than rage that i bought last week. NO LAGGING, GREAT STORY, FANTASTIC ATER TEXTURE, AWESOME!!!

Bioschock is one of those very rare games that expertly mixes storytelling and gameplay. The twist is unexpected - and still makes sense - and the characters are great. Andrew Ryan is basically Ayn Rand (they even stole her initials to make sure you got it), you sympathize with Atlas and Tannenbaum is creepy yet endearing. The gameplay is fast and fun, the atmosphere is fantastic and the enemies are creepy. Quick heads-up about Frolic Fort: take the oppertunity to explore. Its a pretty messed up place. Bioschock came out in 2007 and still holds up as one of the most innovative and immersive games in a long time. Go buy it. Right now.

Long time gamer. Heard lots of good stuff about this game so decided to download it. So worth it, the game keeps you intrigued al the way through, very exciting!

When I saw the BioShock trailer years ago as a kid, the combination of happy music with disturbing visuals had a huge impact on me, and I told myself, "When Im older and I get video games, I am going to get this." And I finally did, and Im so glad! It is a pretty difficult game. Even though Im on the mode it recommends for those who have played FPS games before (which I have), Im finding it pretty hard. Because there are so many different things and combinations of things you can do, the controls can get pretty complex. The default key inputs may not work for you, it may take some experimenting to find that "sweet spot". But once you get a good handle on the controls, it gets pretty amazing. The plasmids make you feel so powerful, being able to electrocute things, freeze things, set things on fire, or move things through the air (and probably more, I havent gotten that far yet), with just a wave of your hand! And if you practise enough it becomes almost effortless, as if these powers are part of your real life self. Makes you feel like a god! Its a very creepy game as well, great atmosphere! I love the tape recordings, the messages on the walls, and relics from a once-thriving city; all these little clues make for a great story and make you want to learn more.

This is a must!!!! no lag, great graphics, a little expensive.

This game has a very unique and entertaining experience! The concept is unlike anything Ive seen in any other video game, well worth the $20.00. Im running this game on my early 2011 MacBook Pro 13 inch with a 2.3 GHz Intel core i5, 8gb DDR3 RAM, Intel HD 3000 512 MB, and it runs very smooth with almost no lag, except in a few areas. Cant wait to finish and start playing the second game!

This game really does play out well and at a suprisingly good refresh rate. It is really fun and you can get really into it! I am playing on a 15" Macbook Pro Retina and the game looks fantastic. Takes a little bit a work to figure out how to work the controls, but after that it is a spot on buy. Would recommend this gameto anyone who enjoyed games such as Fallout, Borderlands and Dishonored, and other first-person RPGs.
