It got awards for a reason

Bioschock is one of those very rare games that expertly mixes storytelling and gameplay. The twist is unexpected - and still makes sense - and the characters are great. Andrew Ryan is basically Ayn Rand (they even stole her initials to make sure you got it), you sympathize with Atlas and Tannenbaum is creepy yet endearing. The gameplay is fast and fun, the atmosphere is fantastic and the enemies are creepy. Quick heads-up about Frolic Fort: take the oppertunity to explore. Its a pretty messed up place.

Bioschock came out in 2007 and still holds up as one of the most innovative and immersive games in a long time. Go buy it. Right now.
