Issues with Starting

Ive been having issues running the application. Do I need a disc version, because I mean I bought the $20 version off of the App store, and Im using the latest MacBook Pro. When ever I try to run the game it brings up FAQs and Data and Video settings and stuff. Ive never had an issue like this with any other games. Do I need some type of special software? Please fix, or give me a walk through on how to fix this issue. Also I noticed it took the money from my account like its supposed too, but when I exited from the App Store and reopened it later it shows that it didnt take the money, but it says its installed… Please fix this IDK whats happening :(
